Larry Halverson hails from Roosevelt Park, Michigan. Although Larry started playing the saxophone at an early age, he took up the tin whistle years later after witnessing Kennedy’s Kitchen in concert in 2009. The Kitchen’s performance ignited in Larry’s passion to learn Irish whistle techniques, while forming his own style used in his two bands Uneven Ground and The Langford Lads.
To incorporate UG’s traditional Irish sound, Larry receives whistle and flute lessons from some of Ireland’s leading performers and instructors. Larry offers whistle training through Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp’s adult summer learning sessions, Michigan Irish Music Festival’s Cultural programs, school workshops and private lessons.
