Why can’t the Festival continue and use local/stateside musicians?

With the uncertainty of the state of the COVID-19 situation and social distancing guidelines, the safety of our patrons, volunteers, musicians, and vendors must be our first and foremost concern. That is the basis of our decision on the status of the Festival.

Will the musicians that were already booked for 2020 be rebooked for 2021?

We will be working with musicians to best fit their schedule as it aligns with the 2021 dates for MIMF.

We are a sponsor and have already sent our 2020 check. Now what?

First off, thank you for your support. We would like you to consider A. allowing us to hold your sponsorship for 2021, or B. contributing that to the Festival to assist us in covering the $40,000 that has already been spent this year. A refund would always be available if you choose.

Will the Festival be rescheduled for a different date or location in 2020?

No, the Festival is cancelled. Depending on the pandemic, there could be some type of alternate event with strict social distancing measures in place. However, the Festival at Heritage Landing has been canceled for 2020.

Why did you cancel (so far in advance)?

With all of the moving parts that go with planning a festival, timing had to be considered. Travel and visa paperwork both take months to coordinate efficiently for musicians. At this time health department officials are still recommending social distancing guidelines which is problematic at best in the festival setting. Providing enough lead time for musicians and suppliers was key.
